Zucchini bread this time of year, is a must. Its almost fall, after all. I honestly don’t know where this year went, seems it went by way too fast. However, I am excited for this time of year. Be it for the cooler temperatures, pumpkin spice everything, or the fond childhood memories I have surrounding this time of year. It goes without saying, that I love fall, and it happens to be my second favorite time of year.
This time of year usually kicks off my baking for the next few months. Though I bake (a ton) the whole year through, fall and winter are usually where I shine, something I learned from my dear departed mama, who was an absolutely polished baker.
Pumpkin spice is the best part of the fall season, though I’m sure there are some who hate pumpkin spice everything, this post isn’t for them. Though you could opt to trade pumpkin spice, for good ol’ fashioned cinnamon. I feel the pumpkin spice, with all is warm and cozy goodness, offers a little something extra, that just might kick off your holiday season.
I have had this recipe for a long time, it is one of my mama’s, so I make it for my dad every year, as she would. I’m sure I’ve mentioned a time or two, how I hated anything domestic growing up, I was a typical tom-boy, and didn’t want to learn to cook, or sew or anything that I saw my mama, and sister’s doing. Well, fast-forward a few years, and I wised up, and after my mama got sick, and then passed away, I wanted to cook the way she did, out of love for my family.
My mom always had a way of brining people closer with food, the way she made things, you could just feel the love she poured into it. Something I always cherished growing up. So now, this wised-up mama, is completely and fully committed to passing on my mama’s traditions of cooking, and love onto those who want to learn. Whether you know how to cook, or are just getting started, whatever season of life you maybe in, I hope you try new things, find your groove, and just enjoy the love you can share, through a few baked goods.
Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me shall not hunger, and whoever believes in me shall never thirst. ~ John 6:35 ESV
Have a blessed week dear readers!
